About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain desktop and cloud-based integration solutions using modern software stacks
  • Collaborate with geoscientists and engineers to translate domain workflows into robust software applications
  • Build and maintain APIs and data pipelines that support seismic interpretation, geologic modeling, and reservoir characterization
  • Integrate AI/ML models into interpretation and earth modeling workflows to enhance automation
  • Ensure software quality and performance through unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment strategies
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming
  • Provide technical mentorship and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, geophysics, computer science, or engineering
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
  • Proficiency in C++, C#, Python, .Net Framework, Azure services, and DevOps
  • Experience with plugin development using Petrel Ocean SDK
  • Experience with multi-thread/parallel computing, AI/ML, HPC, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
  • Knowledge of authentication and cybersecurity protocols including OAuth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Familiarity with OpenGL, Qt, and OSDU
  • Experience with Petrel, Techlog, Studio, and related subsurface tools
