About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level expertise and strategic direction for the design and operation of Power Generation Plant control systems
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate control systems with critical plant systems
  • Oversee installation of control systems to ensure adherence to design specifications and industry standards
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Lead the commissioning process to bring power plants online and troubleshoot startup issues
  • Manage real-time monitoring and data collection systems to optimize performance
  • Develop and implement fail-safe and redundancy measures to enhance plant safety
  • Drive continuous improvement by enforcing Instrumentation & Controls standards
  • Propose and implement strategic upgrades to SCADA, DCS, and PLC Control Systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls/Automation Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Professional experience in a power systems environment with utility-scale power generation knowledge
  • 7+ years of experience in control systems, electrical power management, or controls engineering
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, PLCs, and industrial control systems
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline or active Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Experience with Power Plant DCS or PLC-based Control Systems
  • Experience with SEL PowerMax, SEL RTAC, Ignition SCADA, GE Mark VIE, or AllenBradley PLCs
  • Active industry credentials such as CEM or PMP
