About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assurance and instrumentation engineering expertise for the life cycle management of field instrumentation at a leading Gas-to-Liquids facility.
  • Lead engineering design, calculations, and specifications for instrument-related projects and plant changes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and Shell DEP standards.
  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, specifically focusing on HEMP and Safety Critical Activities.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support to eliminate bad actors and maximize asset reliability.
  • Coordinate Instrumented Protective Functions (IPF) classification and management.
  • Manage OPEX/CAPEX build-up and spend for instrumentation-related activities.
  • Support the leadership and technical coaching of site personnel to meet business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation & Control engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in instrumentation within the oil & gas industry.
  • Proven experience in process control, automation, design, troubleshooting, or maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or equivalent structured problem-solving methods.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and coaching skills.
  • Willingness to relocate to Bintulu, Sarawak.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Shell DEPs and DCAF requirements and implementation.
