About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assurance and instrumentation engineering expertise for the life cycle management of field instrumentation at a leading Gas-to-Liquids facility.
- Lead engineering design, calculations, and specifications for instrument-related projects and plant changes.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and Shell DEP standards.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, specifically focusing on HEMP and Safety Critical Activities.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support to eliminate bad actors and maximize asset reliability.
- Coordinate Instrumented Protective Functions (IPF) classification and management.
- Manage OPEX/CAPEX build-up and spend for instrumentation-related activities.
- Support the leadership and technical coaching of site personnel to meet business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation & Control engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in instrumentation within the oil & gas industry.
- Proven experience in process control, automation, design, troubleshooting, or maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or equivalent structured problem-solving methods.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and coaching skills.
- Willingness to relocate to Bintulu, Sarawak.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Shell DEPs and DCAF requirements and implementation.
