Senior Instructor - Elementary

Responsibilities

• Teach the AoPS curriculum in dynamic, participation-oriented classes, actively engaging students and managing the classroom.
• Manage all grading and administrative tasks for assigned classes and support the grading needs of other instructors and directors.
• Hold regular office hours and meet with students and families for academic, behavioral, or advisory support meetings.
• Participate in teacher training and mentoring by modeling best teaching practices through class observations.
• Assist directors with planning and facilitating professional development sessions.
• Create and implement content-specific in-reach and outreach workshops for current and prospective students.
• Contribute to course feedback and discussions regarding potential curriculum improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required (strongly preferred in education or a related field).
• At least 2 years of prior K-12 teaching experience (or 1 year of teaching experience with AoPS Academy).
• Strong subject matter expertise in elementary content.
• Ability to work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends during the academic year.
• Legal authorization to work in the US (sponsorship is not available).

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree related to the subject area.
• Demonstrated experience teaching elementary content.
