Senior Installation Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of onsite technicians supporting the VA’s EHRM deployment and training project
• Manage equipment setup at training sites, including computer imaging, security scans, and Active Directory assignment
• Configure and manage baseband network connectivity, internet connectivity, and Wi-Fi hardware
• Perform hardware start-up, imaging, configuration, naming, and break/fix support
• Manage inventory and ensure network connectivity during all training sessions
• Provide onsite support and issue resolution with limited supervision

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, analyzing, configuring, or troubleshooting IP networks
• Experience managing technical teams
• Experience with Wi-Fi and network hardware configuration and management
• Experience with hardware/software support, system imaging, and deployment projects
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including 1-4 week stints
• Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 50 pounds
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and personal transportation
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, or equivalent with 10 years of experience (or 18 years total experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Public Trust Clearance
• Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop deployments
• Experience as IT helpdesk Tier 2
• Strong critical thinking and error assessment capabilities
