Senior Inport Planning Officer

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated schedule plans and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned with group standards and project elements like Safety, Risk, and Procurement.
• Maintain complex EPC and EPCM Project Master Schedules, including preparing Basis of Schedule and validating duration benchmarks.
• Apply critical path and critical chain methods to assess risks and optimize schedule opportunities.
• Monitor and control progress using Earned Value principles, identifying schedule conflicts and resource constraints.
• Provide transparent reporting through S-Curves, executive dashboards, and quality-assured schedule updates.
• Manage and coordinate the allocation of internal and external resources to support project effectiveness.

Requirements

• Degree or NQF 7 equivalent.
• Professional qualification in Project Planning and Project Management (PMI-SP or PMI-PMP).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling.
• At least 5 years of experience within the Marine Mining Industry.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating at a Senior Planner level.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (EVM templates, Pivot tables).
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Projects, and Synchro Pro 4D.

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of producing schedules and animations utilizing Bentley Synchro Pro 4D.
• Technical competence in basic maintenance and production systems.
• Strong leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, and supervisory management.
