Senior Innovation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Propose, plan, and lead innovation projects, including managing sustainable innovation pipelines and budgetary control.
• Ensure compliance with Network Innovation Allowance and Strategic Innovation Fund Governance.
• Manage project risks by identifying potential issues and implementing proactive mitigation measures.
• Lead and mentor team members through objective setting, appraisals, and performance reviews.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate project implications, opportunities, and responsibilities.
• Review and audit project deliverables, including technical specifications, data validation, and modeling tools.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for all innovation-related queries.

Requirements

• Strong organization and project management skills across cross-functional workstreams.
• Well-developed technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles or in-depth understanding of energy trading frameworks (e.g., DSO, TSO).
• Technical understanding of system quality of supply and associated monitoring techniques.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate teams through complex, technology-challenging projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and lobby stakeholders.
• A full and valid UK driving licence.
