About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor product and service operations against key performance indicators and respond to deviations.
- Act as the first responder to production incidents, executing responses via runbooks or professional judgment.
- Define and document incident response scenarios and prepare runbooks in collaboration with SRE teams.
- Automate day-to-day operations to reduce human effort and improve team efficiency.
- Coordinate incident response by setting up war rooms and communicating with tech leads and development teams.
- Prepare incident root cause analysis (RCA) and postmortem reports to outline preventive measures.
- Implement service reliability improvements by writing infrastructure and observability configuration code.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, ARM, or CloudFormation.
- Experience with observability tools including Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.
- Working experience supporting public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience managing workloads in container ecosystems like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Strong knowledge of Linux OS (RHEL or Debian-based) and Bash scripting.
- Experience supporting SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB) and caching solutions.
- Understanding of networking configuration, security practices (TLS, certificate management), and API fundamentals.
- Ability to work in a rotation-based, 24x7 availability model.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure during incidents.
