About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of capital project planning, high-level strategic planning, and infrastructure planning for Faculty projects
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to staff regarding building mechanical systems and specialized laboratory requirements
- Conduct research related to physical and infrastructure planning for Faculty facilities
- Liaise with internal and external consultants, partners, and university groups to ensure project success
- Participate in setting annual priorities for space planning in conjunction with the Director of Infrastructure Planning
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while responding to frequently changing priorities and timelines
Requirements
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation in good standing with the Professional Engineers of Ontario
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Management, Mechanical/Electrical consulting, or Facilities Management
- Proficiency in using CAD software for plans and analytical software/spreadsheets
- In-depth knowledge of Design and Sustainability Standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in project planning and management within the post-secondary education sector
- Experience providing complex services in an academic or diverse environment
- Experience with utilities and facilities management
- Certification in energy analyses, energy measurement and verification, or commissioning
