About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of capital project planning, high-level strategic planning, and infrastructure planning for Faculty projects
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to staff regarding building mechanical systems and specialized laboratory requirements
  • Conduct research related to physical and infrastructure planning for Faculty facilities
  • Liaise with internal and external consultants, partners, and university groups to ensure project success
  • Participate in setting annual priorities for space planning in conjunction with the Director of Infrastructure Planning
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while responding to frequently changing priorities and timelines

Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation in good standing with the Professional Engineers of Ontario
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Management, Mechanical/Electrical consulting, or Facilities Management
  • Proficiency in using CAD software for plans and analytical software/spreadsheets
  • In-depth knowledge of Design and Sustainability Standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project planning and management within the post-secondary education sector
  • Experience providing complex services in an academic or diverse environment
  • Experience with utilities and facilities management
  • Certification in energy analyses, energy measurement and verification, or commissioning
