Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)

Responsibilities

• Perform cybersecurity tasks and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) to maintain Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) for DoD medical systems
• Conduct extensive assessments of systems and networks to identify deviations from acceptable configurations or enclave policies
• Implement government policies including JSIG, NISPOM, SP-800-171, SP-800-53, and RMF
• Develop and maintain RMF documentation such as System Security Plans (SSP), POA&Ms, and Privacy Impact Assessments
• Perform continuous monitoring of systems, audit security logs, and analyze anomalies
• Evaluate and track security impacts of hardware and software changes through risk analysis and security testing

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems management, or a related field
• 4 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)
• Extensive experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG)
• Proven experience developing and maintaining SSP, POA&M, and ATO artifacts
• Current IAM Level I certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility

Preferred Qualifications

• IAM Level II certification (such as CISSP, CISM, or CASP)
• Experience conducting Security Control Assessments to ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-53
• Knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, and independent verification and validation (IV&V) techniques
• Experience developing waivers and exceptions for information system vulnerabilities
