About the role
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous leadership and communities in the British Columbia region
- Develop and implement Indigenous-related participation and engagement plans
- Coordinate and facilitate direct Indigenous community engagement and relationship management initiatives
- Identify and develop business opportunities and capacity-building partnerships with Indigenous groups and businesses
- Provide strategic advice to business leadership to inform Indigenous engagement strategy and practice
- Support internal initiatives related to Indigenous staff recruitment, retention, and cultural awareness
- Act as a central coordination point for navigating partnerships between Stantec and Indigenous communities
- Represent the company at industry association working groups and business development events
Requirements
- 4-year university degree with 8+ years of related experience (including 2 years in a professional consulting context) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- In-depth knowledge of the history and present-day context of Indigenous Peoples in British Columbia
- Demonstrated experience in Indigenous Relations program development, implementation, and management
- Expertise in Indigenous knowledge systems and worldviews
- Strong facilitation, written communication, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to build partnerships with Indigenous businesses, community members, and governments
- Ability to handle complex and sensitive issues with good judgment and integrity
