Senior Index Custom Calculations Analyst

Responsibilities

• Manage the configuration, calculation, and dissemination of custom equity and strategy indices.
• Ensure the accuracy of daily index calculations and monitor corporate action adjustments.
• Develop and maintain index-related tools using Python, SQL, and Excel, utilizing modular coding practices and Python classes.
• Implement and back-test complex strategies and manage periodic rolls and rebalancing.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and improvements to enhance operational efficiency and data quality.
• Collaborate with technology teams and stakeholders to define new processes and implement controls.
• Respond to ad-hoc client requests and provide subject matter expertise on index maintenance and market impacts.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in index operations or a relevant financial role.
• Proficiency in Python (including modular coding/classes), SQL, and Excel/VBA.
• Strong understanding of asset classes (equity, FICC, derivatives) and derivative valuation.
• Experience with market data vendors such as Refinitiv, Bloomberg, SIX, or ICE.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong English communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to work flexibly across different time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

• CFA or FRM designation.
• Fluency in a second language, such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish, or German.
