Senior Inbound Travel Consultant

About the Company

Planet Africa Tours’ Inbound Division offers destination management services to the Japanese market, operating tours across Southern and East Africa. A combination of local knowledge and an understanding of the requirements of the Japanese traveler has made Planet Africa Tours the largest Southern Africa operator in the Japanese market.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and prepare travel itineraries with expert advice and recommendations
• Manage bookings from initial quote through to invoicing and travel documentation
• Source and secure alternatives when availability challenges arise
• Convert quotes into bookings and utilize opportunities to increase margins
• Conduct availability checks and book all accommodation and services
• Provisionally book services and manage release dates
• Compile documentation for tour guides, tour leaders, and group operations
• Perform quality control on all bookings and resolve account queries
• Assist with training and mentoring junior team members

Requirements

• Grade 12 essential; tertiary qualification in Travel and Tourism highly preferred
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in inbound reservations
• Experience designing bespoke itineraries for group and individual travelers
• Experience working with the Japanese market is highly beneficial
• Strong knowledge of travel products and logistics in South and Southern Africa
• Proficiency in UDMS and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
