Senior In-house Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts to balance legal protection with business needs.
• Manage litigation and disputes, assessing exposure and coordinating with external counsel on novel fintech legal questions.
• Design and improve legal operations, including contract governance frameworks and scalable legal processes.
• Provide legal support for LFSA licensing applications and regulatory engagement for Labuan-based entities.
• Partner with engineers to develop and implement AI tools for contract drafting, legal research, and compliance tracking.
• Translate complex legal requirements into practical, actionable guidance for non-legal teams.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) in corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
• Proven experience handling legal matters with significant business consequences.
• Knowledge of offshore financial services or experience with LFSA, Labuan IBFC, or similar regulatory environments.
• Proficiency in English with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
• Comfort with AI and automation tools, or a strong willingness to learn and implement them to automate legal workflows.
• Commercially pragmatic mindset with the ability to assess risk without hindering business momentum.
