Senior In-house Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Draft and manage complex contracts, making strategic decisions on acceptable risk to enable business deals.
• Own high-risk legal matters and provide guidance that balances legal safety with commercial objectives.
• Assess legal exposure, determine litigation strategies, and manage external counsel for novel fintech legal questions.
• Create and update policies for contract governance and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Advise on cross-border legal matters, including data privacy (GDPR) and licensing requirements.
• Partner with engineers to design and build AI tools for contract drafting, legal research, and compliance tracking.
• Translate complex legal requirements into practical, plain-language guidance for engineers, product managers, and executives.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across business, compliance, risk, and product functions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of corporate legal experience, specifically owning and managing complex matters.
• Deep expertise in fintech law and navigating regulations in a fast-moving technological landscape.
• Multi-jurisdictional experience advising global organizations.
• Strong knowledge of data privacy frameworks, such as GDPR.
• Excellent English communication skills with the ability to explain legal complexity simply.
• Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
• A commercially pragmatic mindset that assesses risk without stalling business momentum.

• Experience or strong interest in using AI and automation to streamline legal processes.
• Experience working within a high-growth technology or fintech environment.
