About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, implement, and maintain essential SCADA systems for automated manufacturing equipment and manual processes
  • Interface automated and manual manufacturing equipment with plant information systems (MES) and enterprise data platforms
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure the operational reliability of SCADA and manufacturing data systems
  • Work with automation equipment vendors to design and document equipment interface specifications
  • Collaborate with Process engineering to determine and provide process data to data historians
  • Ensure cybersecurity and data integrity best practices are followed across all systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5-10 years of SCADA development experience
  • Proficiency in structured programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL
  • Knowledge of SCADA platforms (Ignition, GE iFix, or similar) and control systems
  • Knowledge of real-time Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, etc.)
  • Ability to travel globally (including the United States, Poland, and China)
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced experience with Inductive Automation Ignition (Perspective, Vision, scripting) or Ignition Gold certification
  • Experience configuring Aveva PI System (Asset Framework, Event Frames, PI Vision)
  • Familiarity with Siemens, Omron, and Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Knowledge of MS SQL and database design for manufacturing data
  • Experience using GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with automated assembly cells for discrete manufacturing
