Senior II Back-End Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own, shape, and drive technical direction across multiple engineering squads
• Lead complex, ambiguous initiatives from idea to delivery
• Design, build, and evolve scalable backend systems using Python/Django and data pipelines
• Partner with PMs, EMs, and senior stakeholders to shape roadmaps and technical trade-offs
• Raise the engineering bar through mentoring and architectural reviews
• Drive reliability, observability, and performance across multiple services
• Participate in an on-call rotation (1 week every 5 weeks)

Requirements

• Exposure to architectural patterns of large, high-scale web applications
• Proven experience leading complex, greenfield projects end-to-end
• Track record of shaping architectural decisions and engineering standards
• Ability to shape product scope and focus on customer value
• Strong English communication skills (B2+)
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python/Django is a plus, though we are tech-agnostic and welcome experience in Java, Node.js, Ruby, Scala, .NET, PHP, or Go
