Responsibilities
- Oversee core HR functions including employee relations, labor relations, compensation, benefits, and workforce planning.
- Partner with the Area HR Director to develop and implement strategic HR solutions aligned with business goals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, addressing both tactical and strategic HR issues to support organizational growth.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and provide guidance to resolve employee relations matters professionally.
- Manage staffing efforts for exempt and non-exempt roles, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Lead succession planning and talent management initiatives to identify development needs and strengthen the leadership pipeline.
- Drive employee engagement and retention programs to foster a high-performance culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
- Extensive hands-on experience working within a union environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in employment law, collective bargaining agreements, grievance handling, and conflict resolution.
- Proven ability to interpret and navigate union contracts and participate in contract negotiations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR or SPHR certification.
- Knowledge of the transportation or logistics industry.
