Senior HSE Officer

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSSE policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and ISO standards
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards
• Organize and conduct HSSE training programs for employees and contractors
• Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and accidents, recommending corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with local and international health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Develop and update the plant’s emergency response plan and coordinate response teams
• Monitor HSSE performance metrics and prepare regular reports for management
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering departments to integrate safety into all operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of HSSE experience in the power generation or industrial sector
• Experience in combined cycle plants preferred
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety certification preferred
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 internal auditor certifications are an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office and HSSE management software
• Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is an asset
• Ability to work onsite and conduct regular site inspections

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with combined cycle power plants
• ISO internal auditor certifications
