Senior HR Business Partner

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to anticipate workforce risks and support organizational scaling
• Coach and support managers on addressing people matters confidentially and compliantly
• Respond to employee questions and provide guidance on core HR functions
• Proactively identify and address potential employee relations matters
• Deploy HR policies, programs, and processes to meet contractual and legal requirements
• Drive internal initiatives to foster employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states
• Contribute to strategic initiatives including diversity, inclusion, and workforce development

Requirements

• 8+ years as an HR Business Partner, preferably with technical or engineering teams
• Experience in high-growth, fast-scaling startup environments
• Experience in California-based aerospace, engineering, technology, or hardware manufacturing
• Proven ability to influence and coach both managers and individual contributors
• Experience with succession planning and leadership development
• Experience with AI tools and applications
• Hands-on experience managing complex employee relations and internal investigations
• Direct experience with California labor and employment law (exempt/non-exempt, wage and hour)
• Proficiency with HRIS and performance management tools (e.g., Rippling, Lattice, ADP)

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR)
• Experience using people data analytics to drive outcomes
• Experience managing HR functions for non-exempt employees under California regulations
