Senior Histotechnologist

Responsibilities

• Perform complex histology procedures including microtomy, H&E staining, and IHC assays on patient specimens.
• Provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and competency assessment for Histotechnologists.
• Assist with writing and revising standard operating procedures (SOPs) and preparing for CAP inspections.
• Conduct and document qualification of incoming reagent lots and laboratory instrumentation.
• Perform macrodissection of unstained slides and prepare necessary reagents, solutions, and controls.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in lab workflows and maintain stringent quality standards.
• Support laboratory staff and interact with pathologists to ensure timely, high-quality specimen processing.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program with 6+ years of laboratory experience (or equivalent experience based on education level).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• HT (ASCP) or HLT (ASCP) certification.
• Active QIHC (Qualification in Immunohistochemistry) through the ASCP Board of Certification.
