Senior Highways Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed highways geometry design, including 2D and 3D roundabouts, junctions, and interchanges
• Prepare concept and detailed designs and generate accurate earthwork quantities
• Mentor and guide junior staff members to support their technical and professional development
• Manage task programs, budgets, and technical quality to ensure delivery within constraints
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams on complex, multi-region projects
• Respond to client queries and prepare professional presentations and supporting documentation
• Ensure all design outputs comply with project requirements and Business Management System (BMS) standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
• 4-12 years of professional experience in the design of Highways, Motorways, or Freeways
• Proficiency in 12D design software is essential
• Experience with AutoCAD/AutoDesk and the wider Autodesk suite
• Strong knowledge of Austroads or other international design standards (DMRB, AASHTO)
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and work both autonomously and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Civil 3D or OpenRoads Designer
• Proficiency in AutoTurn and Signs and Line design software
• Experience working within ProjectWise environments
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (e.g., MIEAust, ICE, or CIHT)
