Senior High-Voltage Interconnect Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Execute product development from architecture to mass production
• Design, prototype, and refine solutions to difficult engineering challenges
• Interface with global suppliers to execute designs into mass production
• Identify design opportunities for quality, cost, assembly, and manufacturing
• Develop and monitor production tooling
• Perform root cause and failure analysis on parts and products

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 6 years of industry experience in an Engineering role
• 3 years of experience in Cable Harness or Interconnect design
• Understanding of cable/connector tests (cross-section, pull-out, current cycling)
• Knowledge of metallurgy, solid mechanics, and material selection for electrical components
• Experience with connector selection, crimp quality, and IP ratings
• Familiarity with standards such as USCAR, IEC, and IPC
• Knowledge of EMI, shielding, grounding, and thermal design for contacts
• Proficiency in CAD (Zuken or NX preferred)
• Ability to review 2D drawings and apply GD&T
• Experience with injection molding, CNC machining, and mass production processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Design experience with high power systems (up to 1kV and 500A)
• Experience with ruggedized outdoor electromechanical products
• Strong background in failure analysis and root cause investigations
