About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day on-site supervision of healthcare construction projects including hospitals, clinics, and specialized medical facilities
- Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific regulatory requirements and standards, including infection control risk assessments and protocols
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project schedules and deliverables
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols tailored to healthcare settings to protect patients, staff, and workers
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and hospital staff to address project challenges
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure construction meets all applicable codes and plans
- Manage documentation including daily reports, change orders, RFIs, and safety records
- Anticipate potential project risks and proactively develop solutions to mitigate impact on schedule and budget
- Serve as the primary on-site representative for stakeholders
Requirements
- 10 years experience as a Superintendent
- Minimum of 5 years of superintendent experience in healthcare construction or related fields
- Thorough knowledge of healthcare construction regulations, infection control, and safety standards
- Proven ability to manage multi-trade commercial or institutional construction projects
- Ability to develop and maintain clear project schedules using Microsoft Project
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, BIM, and Microsoft Project
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with hospital personnel and regulatory agencies
