About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced administrative support to Neuropathology faculty and trainees, including managing patient assets for faculty, fellows, and residents.
- Manage departmental scheduling, Laboratory Information System applications, and the Pathology Departmental Service Calendar.
- Prepare professional correspondence, memoranda, reports, manuscripts, and teaching materials such as abstracts and grants.
- Assist the Neuropath Fellowship Director with recruiting, onboarding, reimbursements, and offboarding processes.
- Coordinate complex scheduling for appointments, meetings, travel itineraries, and visiting professors.
- Plan and coordinate events, conferences, and meetings with clinical partners from research, operating rooms, and clinics.
- Transcribe consult and transfer cases using appropriate medical terminology.
- Manage telephone communications and resolve routine or complex inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Maintain faculty CVs and certification documents.
Requirements
- Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of four years of administrative support experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and web-based applications.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and with a diverse group of people.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Previous experience working within Michigan Medicine.
- Familiarity with University of Michigan policies, rules, and regulations.
