Senior Harness Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical harness systems for spacecraft, including connector selection, wire selection, shielding, and routing
• Generate wiring diagrams, pinout tables, and interface definitions
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in PLM tools
• Develop fabrication drawings using Capital Essentials, NX, and Teamcenter
• Support harness fabrication processes and ensure compliance with space-grade standards
• Define and verify harness acceptance criteria, including electrical testing
• Perform electrical design and analysis to ensure performance and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during fabrication, integration, and testing

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering
• 5+ years of electrical engineering or avionics experience (for Level I)
• 8+ years of electrical engineering or avionics experience (for Level II)
• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in an engineering discipline
• Experience in the aerospace or defense industry
• Experience supporting satellite development and operations
• Proficiency in power distribution, signal integrity, and communication systems (RS-422, SPI, Ethernet, CAN bus)
• Experience with Capital Essentials, NX, and Teamcenter
• Familiarity with NASA-STD-8739.4 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
• Experience with electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance, functional testing)
• Familiarity with JAMA requirement management tools
