About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead complex, multi-disciplinary hardware and software programs from concept through production, managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Coordinate deliverables across hardware, firmware, mechanical, and software engineering teams while resolving technical tradeoffs.
- Manage hardware-specific elements including EMS partnerships, component sourcing, BOM management, and manufacturing transition planning.
- Oversee hardware validation, testing programs, and regulatory compliance processes (FCC, CE, UL).
- Partner with external clients to translate business needs into actionable program goals and communicate status to executive leadership.
- Drive process improvements and adopt best practices in project management methodologies to improve team efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in the hardware development industry.
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management roles.
- Deep understanding of hardware development cycles, specifically EVT, DVT, and PVT phases.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
- Proven experience managing EMS partnerships and BOM management.
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior hands-on electrical or mechanical engineering experience (design, validation, or test engineering).
- Experience in consultancy or agency environments managing multiple client programs concurrently.
- Experience with AI, robotics, or IoT product development.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or other relevant project management certifications.
