Senior GNC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own substantial aspects of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) for reentry vehicles
• Develop novel algorithms for final landing stages of flight
• Build modeling and simulation tools to iterate on algorithms
• Perform rapid flight testing to achieve required performance
• Define vehicle architecture and solve new design challenges

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience developing and testing GNC algorithms and systems
• Strong understanding of controls and estimation algorithms (Kalman filtering, sensor fusion, state estimation)
• Solid grasp of classical mechanics, dynamics, and rigid body motion
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
• Experience with guidance and trajectory planning algorithms
• Experience with system identification and parameter estimation
• Experience building code for real hardware in compute-restricted environments
• Practical experience developing GNC for airborne vehicles
• Hardware in the Loop (HITL) test experience
