Senior GNC Engineer II - Mission Formulation

Responsibilities

• Act as GNC contact for Business Development regarding proposals and mission definition
• Develop launch and mission operational concepts
• Design and analyze orbital and suborbital trajectories
• Engineer mission-specific requirements with external stakeholders and customers
• Document GNC solutions and participate in customer design reviews
• Support hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing for trajectories, GNC, and flight code
• Conduct Monte Carlo simulation analyses for launch and mission operations
• Develop and support flight code for ground testing, launch, and mission operations
• Perform flight safety analyses and provide day-of-launch support
• Verify readiness of Automated Flight Termination System (AFTS) hardware and software
• Automate GNC modeling and analysis tasks through tool and process development

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of experience in an engineering or analytical role
• Proven experience developing real-time control or estimation algorithms for autonomous vehicles

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Experience with requirements assessments and interface control documents
• Proficiency with git version control
• 3+ years of experience in modeling and simulation of dynamic systems (rigid bodies)
• 3+ years of experience with Python development
• 3+ years of experience with MATLAB or SciPy for data analysis
• Experience developing in C/C++
• Experience with ASTOS or similar mission analysis and trajectory optimization tools
