Senior GNC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement GNC flight algorithms for chemical and electric spacecraft propulsion systems
• Own GNC flight code architecture, implementation, review standards, and configuration management
• Develop and maintain 6 degrees of freedom simulation capability for burn execution and dispersion analysis
• Perform stability analysis of control loops and document results to flight-review standards
• Define hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test campaigns, including pass/fail criteria and fault injection cases
• Validate flight software against simulation truth models and HIL results
• Support mission design reviews (PDR/CDR) with pointing budgets and execution-error models
• Mentor and guide other engineers in GNC best practices and verification discipline

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering, physics, or a related field
• 5+ years of GNC experience on space vehicles
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and model-based design
• Must be a U.S. Person under U.S. export control laws
• Strong foundation in control theory and stability analysis
• Working knowledge of spacecraft attitude dynamics and orbital mechanics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing flight or embedded software in C or Rust
• Experience with propulsion-specific GNC such as finite-burn effects or propellant slosh
• Experience with both chemical and electric propulsion control
• Experience with strapdown navigation, IMU error modeling, and sensor fusion
• Proficiency with GMAT, STK, FreeFlyer, or equivalent astrodynamics tooling
• Experience supporting government programs (NASA, DoD, SBIR/STTR)
