About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment activities including job postings, interviewing, background checks, and I-9 processing.
  • Lead the onboarding process for staff, faculty, researchers, and students, ensuring smooth transitions and proper system access.
  • Oversee departmental payroll preparation, time-off tracking, and employment-related changes in PeopleSoft and Talent Link.
  • Coordinate immigration-related needs, including visa sponsorship documentation and compliance tracking for faculty and staff.
  • Manage faculty appointments, reappointments, and promotions in collaboration with the Medical Staff Office.
  • Address employee and labor relations issues, maintaining professional relationships with union delegates and adhering to labor contracts.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide data-driven recommendations for continuous organizational improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant human resources experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced spreadsheet skills and database knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion when dealing with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as SHRM, Labor Relations, or HR.
  • Degree specifically in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Previous experience working within healthcare or academic medicine environments.
