About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for staff, including posting positions, scheduling interviews, and managing the I-9 and background check processes.
  • Oversee onboarding for staff, faculty, researchers, and students, ensuring smooth transitions through welcome programs and system access.
  • Manage departmental payroll processing, time-off tracking, and employment-related changes within PeopleSoft and TalentLink.
  • Coordinate immigration-related needs, including sponsorship for F-1, J-1, H-1, O-1, and TN-1 visas, and maintain compliance with ISSO.
  • Support faculty appointments, reappointments, and promotions by working with the Medical Staff Office on credentialing.
  • Handle employee and labor relations by responding to issues and maintaining working relationships with union delegates.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze data to provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant Human Resources experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced spreadsheet skills and database knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to exercise professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion when dealing with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as SHRM or Labor Relations.
  • Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Experience working within healthcare or academic medicine environments.
