Senior General Accountant

Responsibilities

• Record, review, and maintain daily accounting transactions in accordance with accounting standards and company policies
• Manage import and export accounting processes, including supplier invoices, customs duties, freight, clearance fees, and shipment-related costs
• Prepare and reconcile Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations
• Monitor and record inventory transactions and calculate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) for FMCG products
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
• Prepare basic financial statements and support management reporting
• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations, customs duties, and local tax laws
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales teams regarding shipment documentation and costing
• Maintain accurate and organised accounting records and support internal and external audits

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience as a General Accountant, preferably in FMCG and/or import & export companies
• Solid understanding of import/export documentation and shipment costing
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of VAT, customs duties, and local tax regulations
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar)
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel
• Good command of the English language
