Senior Gas Trader

Responsibilities

• Optimize the Gas portfolio to capture trading opportunities and monitor risk
• Transact physical gas, transport, storage, and financial basis
• Identify trading opportunities from books, sales-trading flow, or market movements
• Quote competitive prices daily to the sales-trading team
• Trade natural gas on daily, monthly, and term bases to optimize system performance
• Utilize fundamental market analysis to manage transportation and storage hedges
• Develop quantitative and fundamental views of relevant gas markets
• Collaborate with originators for new deal origination, structuring, and pricing
• Work with the Supply Team to identify cross-commodity opportunities and risks
• Provide market intelligence and insights to senior management
• Monitor market conditions, competitor strategies, and emerging trends

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in natural gas trading
• Expertise in managing term physical and financial positions (transportation and storage)
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a quantitative hard science
• Experience pricing structured, non-standard contracts in energy markets
• Strong knowledge of gas fundamentals and market rules/structure
• Solid P&L experience and ability to assess VaR
• Experience in deregulated electricity markets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in trading platforms (e.g., Dayzer) and ETRM systems
• Eligibility to work in the USA without sponsorship
