Senior FX Sales & Trading Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of NALA's FX trading function, setting standards for execution quality and pricing discipline.
• Take full accountability for the FX trading margin and manage the spread between liquidity sources and client rates.
• Design and implement sophisticated hedging strategies to protect the business against volatility in frontier and emerging markets.
• Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with liquidity providers across African and Asian markets.
• Partner with Engineering and Product teams to build and refine automated pricing engines and trading workflows.
• Serve as the internal authority on FX market dynamics, including parallel vs. official rates and central bank policy shifts.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing trading team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in FX trading, with a proven track record of managing a trading book or leading a desk.
• Expert-level knowledge of African FX markets, including illiquid currencies and parallel market dynamics.
• Direct experience owning P&L, revenue, or margin targets.
• Demonstrated ability to design and manage risk frameworks and hedging strategies.
• A startup-ready mindset characterized by extreme ownership and the ability to build infrastructure from scratch.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex FX dynamics for senior leadership and non-specialist audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Established network of liquidity providers and central bank contacts across Africa and Asia.
• Experience with automated trading systems, API-driven pricing, or stablecoin settlement rails.
• Background in cross-border payments or the remittance industry.
• Advanced credentials such as CFA, ACI Dealing Certificate, or a quantitative Master's degree.
