Senior Full-Stack WebApp Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own full-stack feature delivery across the web client and supporting backend services
• Design and evolve platform-facing web surfaces including authentication, onboarding, and admin tooling
• Architect and implement backend services and APIs using REST and gRPC
• Define and own reliability targets (SLOs/SLIs) and implement structured logging and metrics
• Profile and optimize client and server performance for latency and throughput
• Partner with product, design, and infrastructure engineers to translate intent into technical designs
• Mentor mid-level and associate engineers through pairing and code reviews

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional full-stack web engineering experience
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript and modern component frameworks like React
• Strong backend proficiency in Kotlin, Java (JVM), or TypeScript
• Solid understanding of HTTP, REST, and gRPC + protobuf
• Experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling
• Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Strong testing discipline including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with authentication and identity systems (OAuth/OIDC, SSO)
• Experience building authoring tools, CMSes, or internal back-office applications
• Familiarity with observability stacks like OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or Datadog
• Background in EdTech or domains with strong privacy requirements (FERPA, COPPA)
• Experience with shared design systems and component libraries
• Exposure to Backstage or internal developer platforms
