Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship user-facing mobile features end-to-end across iOS, Android, and backend services
  • Evolve mobile architecture including module boundaries, navigation, and state management
  • Design and operate backend services using Kotlin, Java, or TypeScript
  • Optimize mobile performance regarding startup, memory, battery, and network usage
  • Implement mobile security fundamentals including secure storage and biometric authentication
  • Partner with product, design, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into pragmatic designs
  • Own the release pipeline for App Store Connect and Play Console
  • Mentor mid-level and associate engineers through code reviews and technical guidance

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of production native mobile development (Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose)
  • Experience shipping a mobile app at meaningful scale to the App Store or Play Store
  • Proficiency in backend development with Kotlin, Java, or TypeScript
  • Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns like MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture
  • Deep knowledge of mobile fundamentals including concurrency, lifecycle, and networking
  • Solid grasp of HTTP, REST, and gRPC/protobuf
  • Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong testing discipline across unit, integration, and UI testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct production experience with both iOS and Android
  • Experience with cross-platform tools like Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native, or Flutter
  • Familiarity with observability stacks like OpenTelemetry, SigNoz, or Grafana
  • Background in EdTech or domains with high privacy requirements (FERPA, COPPA)
  • Experience with mobile crash reporting tools like Sentry or Crashlytics
