Senior Frontend React Developer

About the Company

Shelf is building a unique operating system for an automated future, creating an AI Data Model that allows AI agents to reliably reason and deliver precise outcomes at scale for enterprise customers like Glovo, Nespresso, and HelloFresh.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship production Next.js SSR applications with complex state and real-time AI interactions
• Build interfaces for AI-powered features including streaming LLM responses and interactive knowledge graphs
• Architect component libraries and maintain the design system for reusability and accessibility
• Deliver enterprise-grade functionality such as localization, security, and cross-browser support
• Monitor production performance, optimize bundle sizes, and ensure scalability
• Maintain high code quality through thoughtful code review and mentorship

Requirements

• Over 5 years of frontend engineering experience
• 3+ years specializing in React and modern TypeScript
• Production Next.js experience (SSR, App Router, Server Components)
• Experience with complex state management (real-time collaboration, optimistic updates)
• Experience building AI/LLM interfaces (streaming tokens, chat UIs, or semantic search)
• Knowledge of high-load performance and Core Web Vitals
• Understanding of enterprise complexity including accessibility and security
• AI-native working style using coding agents daily
• Strong communication skills for technical trade-offs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React Flow, Highcharts, or complex data-visualization libraries
• Hands-on experience with vector search UIs, RAG interfaces, or generative UI
• Understanding of Node.js or Python for API design discussions
• Experience contributing to design systems or open-source libraries
