About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop ASIC/FPGA/MPSoC digital architecture and RTL design code using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
  • Create UVM constrained random environments and perform verification through simulation and test methods
  • Manage synthesis, place and route, and perform static timing and clock-domain-crossing analysis
  • Create DO-254 DAL-A certification artifacts for Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH)
  • Support requirements capture, decomposition, and traceability throughout the product lifecycle
  • Participate in peer reviews and FAA SOI audits
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers within the group
  • Recommend new tools and practices to improve the ASIC/FPGA design flow

Requirements

  • STEM degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience (or an Advanced Degree with 3 years of experience)
  • Proficiency in writing RTL and testbenches using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
  • Experience with FPGA-specific tools such as Vivado, Libero, Questasim, or Synplify Pro
  • Hands-on experience with data interfaces including PCIe, DDR, I2C, Ethernet, or ARINC-429
  • Experience with device-level timing and clock domain crossing
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or C/C++

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DO-254 processes and design assurance activities
  • Knowledge of DSP/RF architectures
  • Ability to manage cost, schedule, and performance objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic risk management skills to identify and mitigate technical risks
