Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted partner to the Generative Biology Institute (GBI) team, providing financial leadership and serving as the main point of contact for finance matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business priorities.
- Provide financial expertise to support investment proposals and business-case development.
- Lead the month-end management accounts process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with budget owners.
- Prepare annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and long-range (5+ years) financial models.
- Produce monthly reporting for budget holders and leadership with thoughtful variance analysis.
- Build and refine driver-based forecasting tools and support system enhancements.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience as a Finance Business Partner.
- Skilled in preparing financial and performance reports and management information (MI).
- Experience with ERP, planning, and reporting platforms (Oracle Fusion is advantageous).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong numerical skills and ability to translate complex financial concepts for non-financial colleagues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle Fusion.
- Proven track record of improving business performance through financial insights.
