Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deploy forward with aircraft and ground systems to test ranges, airfields, and customer environments
• Provide end-to-end field support including system setup, software/hardware configuration, and integration
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues in real time in unstructured environments
• Own flight test campaigns, demonstrations, and exercises in the field with high autonomy
• Train and guide operators and customers on system usage
• Act as the link between the field and engineering by capturing flight data and operator feedback
• Build and grow the forward-deployed function, including procedures and runbooks
• Work closely with mechanical, GNC, RF, and software teams

Requirements

• 2+ years supporting, deploying, or operating real hardware systems in the field (aerospace, defense, robotics, or hardware startups)
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting across hardware, software, and networking
• Proficiency with command line, tools, cables, and configurations
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, high-pressure environments
• Strong communication skills to translate between engineers, operators, and customers
• Willingness to travel frequently and operate out of remote locations for extended periods
• Military operations experience (JTAC, JFO, CCT, ATC, etc.) is a plus
