Senior Formulation Development Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development by creating formulations and providing analysis for topical products (semi-solid and liquid) to meet China OTC market needs.
• Drive innovation for local star brands, such as Bactroban, through technical sophistication and state-of-the-art research plans.
• Design and execute experiments using advanced scientific principles and statistical applications.
• Manage the full product lifecycle, including development, scale-up, manufacturing, and launch, in compliance with China regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally and manage external innovation through third-party due diligence and technical assessments.
• Ensure all laboratory work adheres to quality and safety standards, including GMP, SOPs, and EHS expectations.
• Contribute to departmental quality documentation, including validation protocols, batch documentation, and reports.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in NPD or formulation development: 10 years with a BS, 7 years with an MS, or 3 years with a PhD.
• Proven history of successful drug formulation and/or product development through to commercial launch.
• Deep knowledge of R&D development processes and the associated commercial environment.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements across OTC and drug markets.
• Proficiency in applying statistical methods to experimental work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for interacting with internal departments and external organizations.
• Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
