Senior Food Technologist

Responsibilities

• Apply scientific and engineering principles to research, develop, and implement new food products, packaging, and processing technologies.
• Manage assigned customer accounts and projects in coordination with sales and marketing to fulfill product requests and improvements.
• Design and develop product profiles, formulations, and testing schedules based on customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
• Implement new products at the plant level following good manufacturing practices and company guidelines.
• Coordinate trial productions, run tests, and prepare samples for internal and external customers.
• Conduct shelf-life studies and evaluate product and package performance under various conditions.
• Provide technical assistance, training, and documentation to customers and internal personnel.
• Ensure appropriate documentation of experimental trials to facilitate scale-up and product transfer to manufacturing.

Requirements

• Master's degree in food science or a related field plus 3 years of baking or cereal industry R&D experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in food science, Chemistry, or Biology plus 5 years of experience.
• Proven experience in the baking or cereal industry.
• Knowledge of commodities economics and cost evaluation.
• Strong ability to plan and execute experimental designs to achieve research objectives.
• Excellent technical writing and computer skills.
• Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage customer expectations directly.
