Responsibilities

  • Verify the function and capabilities of modified flight control systems for remotely operated autoflight systems
  • Ensure proper build-up of functions from lab environments to the vehicle
  • Verify end-to-end functionality and assess all desired test requirements
  • Act as the responsible engineer for the vehicle and as test director during flight test campaigns
  • Engage with multiple teams to ensure a firm understanding of vehicle capabilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of experimental flight test experience
  • Experience drafting test plans, test cards, and test hazard analyses
  • Experience acting as test director during a flight or mission
  • Experience making aeronautical VHF radio calls
  • Demonstrated ability to complete system-level risk assessments
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to comply with U.S. export control laws

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of an SETP recognized flight test school
  • Recent Caravan or PT6A experience
  • Experience with automated or large remotely operated vehicles (UAS, spacecraft, etc.)
  • Experience in flight test programs focused on Certification
  • Experience developing flight procedures, training curricula, and safety management systems
  • Experience flying for a 14 CFR part 135 or 121 Air Carrier
  • Deep understanding of FAA certification processes
  • In-depth knowledge of systems engineering processes and principles
  • Basic familiarity with software programming principles
  • CFII or military flight instructor certification
