Senior Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and development of consumer products from initial concept to ongoing product support
• Write and document code, primarily in C, for functional prototypes and product launches
• Collaborate with the Embedded Systems group to enhance team capabilities
• Analyze product requirements and plan firmware development activities including coding, debugging, and testing
• Develop firmware specifications, documentation, flowcharts, and inter-processor communication protocols
• Develop and execute unit testing plans and work with system test teams
• Support fielded products and perform analysis of field-reported issues
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and technologists

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in firmware development
• Strong experience in C and ASM coding
• Knowledge of embedded system architecture and microprocessor principles
• Experience with heating and motor control
• Familiarity with ST, TI, Sonix, Sinowealth, CMS, GD, and BYD microcontrollers
• Proficiency with debugging tools like oscilloscopes, data loggers, and DVMs
• Familiarity with JIRA and revision control tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C++, Python, or Bluetooth development
• Proficiency in GCC and CMake
• Experience with touch keys and TFT displays
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools
• Familiarity with Agile and CMMI frameworks
