Senior Firmware Engineer - Pathfinding

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for environments with constrained timing and memory resources to prototype new storage innovations.
• Design and implement reusable code, debug issues, and validate firmware architecture and implementations.
• Create novel approaches for firmware algorithms related to Flash Translation Layer (FTL), Garbage Collection, and Performance QoS.
• Perform unit and integration testing to prove code viability and collaborate with architects on implementation details.
• Analyze technical tradeoffs and provide data-driven recommendations for firmware architecture and implementation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software or firmware development, integration, and validation in an embedded systems environment.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Experience with embedded firmware development running in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).
• Familiarity with firmware development environments, including compilers, debuggers, emulators, and toolchains.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and Linux scripting for data parsing and automation.
• Experience with enterprise fabric and storage interface protocols such as PCIe, NVMe, or FC.
• Experience using source control and code review systems like Git.
• Ability to work analytically in a problem-solving environment and manage multiple priorities independently.
