Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence. We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. Our first products are heavily focused on inference.
Responsibilities
- Design cutting-edge software optimizing the performance of chips and unlocking the full potential of very large AI models
- Co-develop with a world-class team of hardware and software engineers to push the boundaries of AI technology
- Solve challenging problems across the full stack, from low-level drivers and APIs to high-level applications and frameworks
- Review code developed by other engineers to ensure best practices, accuracy, testability, and efficiency
- Contribute to the development of AI solutions for natural language processing, chain of reasoning automation, and generative media
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in software development with data structures and algorithms
- 5 years of experience in firmware design, implementation, and troubleshooting
- 5 years of experience with embedded architectures and IO technologies (I2C, SPI, PCIe, DRAM etc.)
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture
- Strong programming skills in C++, Rust, and/or Python
- Experience with embedded systems, high-performance computing, or distributed systems
- Deep understanding of computer architecture and operating systems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
- Experience with Java or Go
- Experience developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
