Senior Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug embedded software for driving Photonic ICs
• Develop firmware for embedded microcontrollers
• Read board schematics to triage and debug low-level digital circuits
• Utilize test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
• Review code developed by other engineers to ensure best practices
• Collaborate with functional teams to understand testing requirements
• Contribute to and maintain technical documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with embedded microcontrollers, specifically ARM-based systems
• Expertise in C/C++ programming for embedded systems
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design and concepts
• Demonstrated ability to debug complex hardware/software interaction issues
• Proficiency in reading schematics and device datasheets
• Comprehensive knowledge of IP protocols, interfaces (I2C, SPI), and hardware subsystems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with software development of medium-sized Python packages
• Experience with RTOS such as Zephyr
• Familiarity with development tools including CMake, VSCode, Git, JIRA, and Confluence
