Senior Firmware Engineer, ASIC

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded firmware architecture, including boot flows, HAL components, drivers, and system services
• Develop low-level firmware in C/C++ and assembly for CPUs, DSPs, and microcontrollers
• Implement bootloaders, secure boot flows, and early hardware initialization sequences
• Develop device drivers for on-chip peripherals like DMA, memory controllers, SerDes, and ADC/DAC interfaces
• Support post-silicon bring-up, including power-on sequencing and peripheral testing
• Debug hardware/firmware interactions using JTAG, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes
• Collaborate with SoC architects to refine register maps and memory maps
• Integrate RTOS or bare-metal environments

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development for SoCs or complex systems
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
• Hands-on experience with SoC or board-level bring-up
• Deep understanding of CPU architectures (ARM, RISC-V), memory systems, interrupts, and DMA
• Experience collaborating with ASIC/SoC design or hardware engineering teams
• Proven ability to debug complex hardware/firmware issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with secure boot or hardware security modules
• Familiarity with RTL simulation, emulation, or FPGA prototyping
• Experience with high-speed interfaces like PCIe, Ethernet, or SerDes
• Background in satellite communication, networking, or high-reliability systems
• Experience with radiation-tolerant or mission-critical systems
