Senior Fire Investigator

Responsibilities

• Attend incident scenes, document and collect evidence, and interview witnesses
• Act as lead investigator for the origin, cause, and development of complex cases
• Liaise with experts representing other interested parties
• Produce high-quality, detailed, and accurate technical reports
• Provide expert witness evidence when required
• Utilize case management systems to record all activity in line with SLA requirements
• Attend joint examinations and utilize specialist skills when necessary
• Maintain technical knowledge through continuous professional development and research
• Represent the company at marketing events, meetings, and conferences
• Produce and present articles or presentations for training and marketing purposes

Requirements

• Relevant experience or qualifications in fire investigation, fire engineering, forensic science, or related disciplines
• Essential practical experience regardless of academic background
• Strong analytical skills and ability to apply scientific approaches to forensic examinations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear, unambiguous reporting
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Current driving licence and ideally a car owner
• Ability to travel frequently, often on short notice, across Ireland and the UK, with occasional overseas travel
